Hi! My name is Erin Hatton, I am a certified instructor specializing in aquatic survival swimming for infants, toddlers and children of all ages. I have been a traditional swim lesson instructor for over eight years, an assistant swim coach for six years, and a competitive swimmer for five. I am certified in CPR, first aid, WSI, and lifeguarding.

Having been a swim instructor for many years and with the skills I had been taught, I felt like there was something missing because I wasn’t able to give children between the ages of 1 – 4 adequate swim lessons. Yes, they had fun and could swim from me to the wall, but what if the wall attainable or I wasn’t there? What would they do? Would they have survived? Those questions weighed on my heart and mind, and that is the main reason I wanted to become certified through the Survival Swim Development Network. This program has given me the ability to teach kids as young as six months vital life-saving skills.

This program is a slow yet fast approach in learning how to swim. The children are taught to respect the water, which in the end allows them to LOVE the water. Knowing that I am truly making a difference in a child’s life and able to share my love of water with them is the most rewarding and life changing experience ever.
